Most delays are visible on site long before they show up in a schedule. A short daily report turns what the site engineer already knows into data the whole team can act on.
What to capture
Workers present, work completed, equipment used, materials consumed, weather and issues. Add two or three photos. That is enough.
Make review part of the routine
A report that nobody reads stops being written. Have the project manager approve or return each report, with a comment.
Close the loop with stock
Materials consumed in a report should update stock. That is how you catch the difference between what was issued and what was used.
